I was honored to attend the Christian Education Initiative (CEI) from October 27 and 28 in Chesapeake,
VA at the Foundation for American Christian Education (FACE) the agency that houses the Principle
Approach™. The first miracle was that Public School Exit paid my way to the conference as well as paying
my conference fees. The second miracle was that even with every flight being canceled, I was able to get
to the conference (after 24 hours on the flight with layovers) and stay up all day after being awake all
night.
What a group of Christian leaders! The opportunity to network with people who are leading the way in
education, like Aletheia, and those who are seeking answers to the educational evil being espoused in
the nation’s public schools was so encouraging. I talked with the editor of the Washington Times, and
listened to a talk about Classical Conversations, a home-school curriculum. I was able to meet several
people in person that I have only met on Zoom such as David Glesne and Mark Shepherd from Vishal
Mangalwadi’s prayer time and Heather and Brian Hall, students of ACC. I had a lengthy conversation
with the leaders of FACE about being a Principle Approach school.
The high point of the conference was listening to and meeting Nicolas Ellis of Christian Halls. I cried the
whole time he was speaking because God is raising up like-minded people who want Christian colleges
through the world. Nick emphasizes local governance, family-led education, zero debt to graduates,
integration of learning into life and a tutorial, agile design. He anticipates a 65% additional growth in 2024.
Since the CEI conference, ACC has met with Nick and is talking about our part in helping the Christian
Halls. We anticipate meeting again with him after the holidays and look forward to being part of what
God is doing in the “Third Education Revolution”.
